In the winter sunset, the clear water of Hongze Lake was shining obliquely. Hundreds of cargo ships were parked quietly in front of the Gaoliangjian Ship Lock, waiting for the gate to open and pass through. Wang Shuangxi, a 33-year-old boater from Guannan County, Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, was pacing on the shore, waiting for the charging device on the shore to charge the battery on his boat. “One full charge is enough for five or six days of life.”
What are the benefits of charging the ship? Wang Shuangxi calculated a fine "economic account": in the past, it would cost more than 100 yuan a day to burn diesel on board to get electricity. Now with the shore power device charging, it only costs 20 to 30 yuan a day on average. , "It saved a lot of money!" The ship lock management side calculated a rough "environmental protection account": in the past, large and small cargo ships used diesel engines to generate electricity, not to mention air pollution, oil pollution, and deafening noise. According to calculations, if ships berthing in Jiangsu are connected to shore power systems, the annual emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides can be reduced by more than 13,000 tons each, accounting for 1.5% and 1% of the emissions of these two types of pollutants in Jiangsu Province in 2013. %.
Compared with small cargo ships in inland rivers and lakes, the emissions of large ships sailing on rivers and seas are particularly alarming. According to the environmental protection department, large freighters mainly burn marine heavy oil for power generation after arriving in port to maintain their refrigeration, loading and lighting. The sulfur content of marine heavy oil is equivalent to 100 to 3,500 times that of vehicle diesel. Therefore, the construction of shore power systems along the coast and along the river has become an urgent need for energy conservation and emission reduction in the port area.
In June 2015, Jiangsu Electric Power Company laid the ship's power supply facilities to ports along the coast, along the river, along the river, and along the lake to provide clean energy for berthing ships and promote energy conservation and emission reduction. At the Gaoliangjian ship lock of Hongze Lake, 5 sets of small-capacity power connection facilities have been built. In 2015, Jiangsu Province built a high-voltage shore power system in each of 5 green and low-carbon demonstration ports including Lianyungang, 200 sets of low-voltage shore power systems at 10,000-ton berths along the coast and along the river, and 3000 units along the river and lakes. Set the right and left small-capacity power connection facilities.
